Disposal decisions therefore need to balance legal ownership with ongoing data protection responsibilities.
Ready Set Recycle provides secure data erasure for unclaimed devices where data is present and erasure is technically viable.
Certified erasure, minimal destruction
Where devices are functional, data erasure is carried out using fully certified software aligned with recognised industry standards.
Each erasure event is:
- Device-specific
- Time and date stamped
- Recorded within the audit trail
Our approach prioritises erasure over destruction wherever possible, reducing unnecessary waste while safeguarding personal information.
When erasure is not viable
In some cases, erasure may not be technically possible or commercially justifiable, for example where devices:
- Fail to power on
- Are physically damaged
- Do not retain sufficient residual value
In these circumstances, devices are securely destroyed through accredited WEEE partners, with outcomes recorded at item level.
